Platform Billing Features: Storefront & Revenue

Pearl offers two ways to facilitate and collect payments for your tutoring business: Storefront and Revenue. Together, these tools give you the ability to bill for your services, collect payments, and track purchases against your clients’ usage.

Platform Billing Features

Pearl offers you two ways to facilitate charging and collecting payments from your clients for your tutoring services. The first is our Storefront feature and the second is Revenue. The key difference between the two is that you can use Storefront to collect payment before scheduling sessions while Revenue gives you the ability to bill for sessions after sessions are completed. In order to use Revenue and Storefront tools, you must sign up for a Stripe account. Stripe is a third-party payment system integrated into our platform that is used by giants like Uber, Spotify, and Shopify. 

Storefront Overview

Storefront is your online store where parents and students can go to purchase your services before scheduling sessions. This feature gives you the ability to create a public or privately facing online store to advertise your tutoring services to parents and prospective students.

What can I do with Storefront?

The Storefront tool has several powerful features to help you streamline billing for your business. Using storefront, you can:

1. Create a public or private online store where clients can directly purchase your services

2. Customize how you bill for your sessions in credits or hours

3. Create packages of your tutoring services

4. Track purchases made through your Online Store. Credits purchased through your Storefront would be automatically deducted as your services are used.

5. Simplify your client’s ability to manage their payments through the platform. Storefront will enable them to store their payment information so they can make quick payments and see their payment history.

Note: Clients must have an account with you on the platform to do this.


6. Give your clients the ability to purchase your services using credit cards, debit cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay

7. Set up session booking rules to align with your business’s billing policies to build in automated scheduling policies.

How can I set up Storefront?

Revenue Overview

Revenue gives you the ability to bill your clients through professional invoices for sessions that have already taken place. This feature allows you to quickly and easily create invoices for your clients.

What can I do with Revenue?

  1. Send individual email invoices to parents and students. 
  2. Draft, save, and send invoices for unpaid sessions to multiple customers
  3. The ability to view and manage invoices directly from your platform
  4. The ability to take action on outstanding invoices 
  5. Give your clients the ability to pay via email or through their dashboard. 
  6. Give your clients the ability to view the complete their payment history

Note: Clients do NOT need a user account on the platform to receive invoices.

Will it cost me anything to use these features?

Currently Pearl is not charging any fees to access or use the Storefront and Revenue features.
It is also free to create a Stripe account, however, please note that Stripe charges 2.9%+$0.30 per successful payment transaction.
